We’ve been asked to help raise awareness of the contact numbers currently publicised for the police.
The numbers that should be used are:
- 101 for non-emergencies
- 999 for emergencies
There are concerns that some older police telephone numbers, such as 01522 532222, are being spoofed. This means criminals can make it appear as though they are calling from a genuine police number, which can be used as part of police officer impersonation fraud.
