Welcome. - 28 members of the public were in attendance. - The Chair of the Parish Council opened the Annual Parish Meeting.

Approve Minutes of Annual Parish Meeting from 15th May 2023. - The Minutes for the previous year were signed.

Report from Chair of the Parish Council. - The Chair gave a warm welcome and thanked the volunteers that have given their time over the past year including fund raising for the café/bar; delivery of leaflets; the running of the book club; apologies if anyone has been left out.

A presentation on local Biodiversity, - There was a presentation on proposed local Biodiversity...Embrace the habitat around us. Not re-wilded but managed planting. The Parish Council is to put some structure and guidance around the scheme. It will include tree planting and wildflower planting. A change in mowing regime within the first year. Recording species during the first year. It will include roadside verges. Ongoing survey of verges. The second year will have planting schemes. Some signage and web site information will be provided. - Agreements will be needed to instruct those mowing grass under contract to reduce cutting and strimming. - Will be looking at different areas for the scheme throughout the first year. Parking of cars may also be affected by the scheme. - The PCC will need to be involved. - Parking is limited for events at the church. Use of the playing field car park has its drawbacks. - What about pesticide use by the village? – should be considered, especially through instruction to the contractors. - What about hedges? – they need to be included, type, age, wildlife content. - Contractors and the farming community will be encouraged to work closely with the scheme especially in the period of March to September.

Items to be discussed from the floor. - Some inconvenience with works on the underground communications cabling. - Efforts will be made to understand whether there is a timetable for the works. - Manor Farm Barn – sewage works vehicles have damaged the local roads/tracks. - Footpath from Caythorpe to Fulbeck and a potential re-route of the ancient path across the land of Caythorpe Hall. Some works have already been done without permission. It is in the hands LCC footpaths officer. It was suggested that people should put in their views to the LCC Footpaths Officer. The land owner has done a private consultation in Caythorpe. The Ramblers Association have stated that it can’t be closed if it is walked at least once a year – they are involved.
